What is a Drivers Education Event?

There is a common misconception about driving schools. I, like many, once thought that the only way someone could get track time on a road course was to spend a couple grand on a big name school. Driving schools like Skip Barber, Bondurant and Panoz are well rounded, full of information, and get you on the track in multiple vehicles to show you the finer points of performance driving. Unfortunately, they tend to run on the high side for a weekend warrior;typically, a weekend course with a high-end school can run in the thousands and may require some traveling. Panoz runs at Sebring, Skip Barber does move around to different venues, and Bondurant is all the way on the West Coast. There is an alternative; Drivers Education programs which we call “Drivers Ed” for short. Drivers Ed programs are designed to get the enthusiast on track to learn finer points of driving, all while keeping cost down, for around $350 for a weekend.
